Air Berlin goes for major expansion of Tel Aviv flights
Direct flights from Berlin, Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf and Munich - Business Class now also available
Starting this spring, Air Berlin will be intensifying its presence in the Holy Land. From summer 2010 onwards, Air Berlin will operate nine non-stop flights a week from Germany to Israel. This brings the pulsating city of Tel Aviv within even easier reach from many areas in Germany. In May a third non-stop flight linking the cities will be added to the existing two direct connections between Tel Aviv and Berlin. From March 2010 Air Berlin passengers from Cologne and Munich will have a choice of two direct flights a week to Tel Aviv. Two further flights a week from Düsseldorf to Tel Aviv will be included in the schedule from June 2010.
There will also be feeder flights from various German cities. Air Berlin is also offering Business Class seats on the flights to Tel Aviv from Berlin, Düsseldorf and Munich. The Business Class service on these routes includes an even greater selection of kosher meals, free seat reservation, 30 kilos free baggage allowance, lounge access, free headsets and a wide selection of German and English newspapers.
"This is the first time that Air Berlin is offering Business Class travel on a medium-haul flight. The enhanced service concept and a total of nine scheduled flights a week between Germany and Israel mean that we can offer our passengers a very attractive product," commented Christoph Debus, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Air Berlin.
All flights to Tel Aviv can now be booked online (airberlin.com), by calling the airline’s Service Centre (Tel.: 01805-737 800) any time and through travel agents. Fares start at 99 euros in Economy and at 599 euros in Business Class and include taxes, charges and miles.

Air Berlin starts two times a week from Düsseldorf to Israel's metropolis Tel Aviv
Air Berlin is adding one more attractive destination in the Middle East to its route network from the airport of Düsseldorf. The airline will be flying to Tel Aviv from 11 July taking off from North Rhine Westphalia's capital two times a week. Israel's second largest city is the economic and cultural center of the country.
The flight from Tel Aviv will be arriving on Fridays at 10.55 am as well as on Tuesdays at 12.30 pm. The return flight to Ben Gurion Airport, Israel's biggest airport, will be taking off on Mondays and Fridays at 12.10 pm. A large Airbus A330-200 with some 300 seats will be used. The flight takes around four and a half hours. Düsseldorf International serves as a hub of this connection for Air Berlin's flights to North America.
The vibrant metropolis at the Mediterranean is an attractive destination, especially because of the historical district of Jaffa. Tel Aviv is a cosmopolitan city: young, modern and full of life. Parts of the Bauhaus school-style built White City are designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition, Tel Aviv is also a popular starting point for those who want to discover the wide variety of the Holy Land.
